Photo of the Day: Un-Rain

Question: Is rain still rain if the water stops dropping? If you were to suddenly gain the power to freeze time, ala-Piper from the ’90s show Charmed, and suspend the water in mid-air at will, then rain stops being rain because its definition depends on the act of falling, right?

I think this photo is not a photo of rain per se, but Un-Rain.

This was taken at Mt. Iwahig on my birthday last May 3. We were on our way to the Underground River in Puerto Princesa, Palawan and needed clear skies to board the boat. I set the shutter speed of my camera at an ultra-fast 1/2000 and that did the trick of stopping the rain, within frame at least.
